Stroke is the leading cause of adult disability in the U.S.

  • Recognize different types of strokes and how to treat associated symptoms and root disharmonies
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers about benefits of Chinese medicine treatment for stroke patients
  • Gain confidence in your ability to provide treatments of genuine benefit for stroke patients. Theory and practice of acupuncture for stroke recovery and rehabilitation.

From scalp acupuncture and the traditional YangMing treatments to Qing dynasty scholar Wang Qing-Ren and Shi Xuemin’s Xing Nao Kai Qiao system (used in the documentary 9,000 Needles). Manual provided includes simplified guidelines to assist with assessment and treatment planning.

Claudia Citkovitz, L.Ac. is Acupuncture Coordinator at Lutheran Medical Center where she provides Acupuncture in Neurology as well as other departments, and where she supervises Pacific College acupuncture internships as well as post graduate studies and clnical intensives for licensed practitioners and doctoral students. She has also taught at Mercy, Touro, and TriState Colleges, and serves on the Advisory Board at TriState. She has done work at University of Chicago School of Medicine, and has authored, presented research, and conducted and consulted for clinical trials for Society for Acupuncture Research, Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, Lutheran Hospital, and University of North Carolina, among others.
