What is Die-Da?
Dit Da literally means ‘to fall’ and ‘to hit’. It is a branch of Chinese medicine which originated in Southern China and is practised today mainly in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Guangzhou. It is originally a nameless art but in time people entitled it with the two most common forms of injuries or sickness – falling and being hit. Hence, it became a ‘Fall and Hit Medicine’. Despite its given name, the art goes far beyond just treating physical injuries. Dit Da treats the human body from a more architectural perspective. Bones, muscles, tendons, sinews, arteries and chi-channels are all within the sphere of Dit Da. Skin-related problems such as allergies and swellings are also associated with this art.
