Course Description

We are told that palpation is the correct way to locate acu-points.  However few clinicians really understand how to palpate channels and points consistent with classical teachings.

In this practical workshop, Poney will explain his method of palpation according to Chapter 75 of LingShu: “One who uses needles, must first examine the repletion and vacuity of the Jing Luo, palpate and follow it, press and pluck it, observe its responsive movement, then obtain it and come down on it (with needle)”.

For the first time in Toronto, Poney is teaching a workshop entirely devoted to point palpation skills.  He will teach the skill to “press and pluck” select channels and points.   Without this ability, it is hard to convince yourself that you are locating points properly as intended by the LingShu.  If you are not locating properly then how can your needling achieve the highest therapeutic potential?  This workshop will teach you the key palpation skills that will allow you continue to learn from your patients in your own practice.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the anatomy of select points

2. Apply the anatomical understanding to locate points by plucking

3. Verify the precision of the location via the expected DeQi response when needled.
