TCM clinic to open at Humber

TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE CLINIC TO OPEN AT HUMBER

Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning is partnering with the Tzu Chi Foundation Canada in support of the college’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (TCM) program.

The partnership will provide entrance and ongoing scholarships for students in the TCM program and will fund the building and operation of an on-campus Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic in space provided by Humber. The clinic will serve the community and offer students real-life opportunities for teaching practicums.

Joint TCM/A Release Opioid Letter

Joint TCM/A Associations Release Opioid Letter to Ontario’s Minister of Health and Long-Term Care

In response to the letter released by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Care, concerning the growing opioid addiction problem in Ontario, The Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC), the Canadian Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (CSCMA), the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (ATCMPAO), and the Traditional Chinese Medicine Ontario (TCMO) working group united to release a joint letter to Ontario’s Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, the Honourable Eric Hoskins. The purpose was to collaborate in an effort to combat the current crisis of opioid addiction in the province.

WFAS Expanding

Members of the 8th Executive Committee of WFAS
Dear member societies,

Until 30 September 2016, WFAS Secretariat had received 3 applications from 3 countries/regions for WFAS membership, and 3 of which were considered qualified after a preliminary screening by the Secretariat and then a review by the Membership Qualification Committee in line with WFAS Constitution. After correspondence voting by the EC members, 3 applicants won more than half of votes in the affirmative, hence are officially accepted as members of WFAS. They are:

  1. Pan European Federation of TCM Societies(PEFOTS), , the Netherland
  2. Association of Qigong for Health, Tao’s Heart, Spain
  3. ALK Acupuncture and Physiotherapy School, Brazil

截至2016年9月30日,世界针灸学会联合会秘书处收到来自3个国家和地区的3个学术机构加入世界针灸学会联合会的申请材料。根据世界针联章程规定,经世界针联秘书处初审,世界针联资格审查委员会复审,并经第八届执委会委员通讯投票,有3个机构获得半数以上赞成票,正式加入世界针联,分别为:

  1. 全欧洲中医药学会联合会
  2. 巴西ALK针灸理疗学校
  3. 西班牙“心道”养生气功协会

Blue Cross now allows Direct Billing

Acupuncturists can now direct bill to Blue Cross Insurance for their patients’ treatments.

Practitioners must first register with Blue Cross to obtain a Provider number (this is needed whether doing direct online billing or whether your patient is submitting the forms manually).

This includes BOTH regulated and unregulated provinces!
