The Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (ATCMPAO) is offering a special PLAR preparation workshop to assist practitioners transferring from grandparented class to general registration. This workshop is for advanced practitioners and focuses on the list of 52 TCM diseases and conditions that practitioners must thoroughly understand to be able to diagnose and treat patients as determined by the CTCMPAO. Workshop attendees will improve their clinical skills, critical thinking ability for TCM case studies, and most importantly, become better prepared for the PLAR assessment.
This workshop is open to all registered practitioners. Instruction will be in English, with key words translated into Chinese.
Instructor:
Danny Li, R.TCMP, PhD (TCM). President of the association. Recipient of 2014 **Excellence in Teaching Award** from University of Toronto for teaching TCM.
Learning outcome:
Upon completion of this workshop, attendees will become more knowledgeable with the list of 52 TCM diseases and conditions that the CTCMPAO expects practitioners to fully diagnoses and treat:
- Make correct TCM diagnosis based on the information provided in case study
- Outline the reasons for your diagnosis clearly
- Develop treatment principles and treatment plans according to PLAR requirements
- Select suitable acupuncture points for treatment
- Select suitable herbal formula for treatment
